Stored grain is moved from silos via transport trucks, and emptying either of them can be deadly. If a farmer moves in to clear a jam in the funnel, they can be sucked into the grain flow and completely covered within seconds. The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association has developed a BeGrainSafe resource, and crop protection company FMC Canada recently donated $37,000 to help mobilize the program’s demonstration and training unit.
