A program sponsored by the Chicken Farmers of Ontario is giving wings to new chicken products. The contest awards an additional volume of chicken to be processed to successful entrants, in recognition of their innovation. The requirements for consideration are simple: the new product must be made from chicken grown and processed entirely in Ontario, a primary producer must be involved in the application, and the new product had been piloted or recently introduced to market. Ontario is already home to the largest chicken farming, processor and consumer base in Canada. Officials hope this program further stimulates growth from the producer to consumer.
