Our friends at the Guild of Agricultural Journalists in the UK have elected a new chairman, Nick Bond, who is profiled in a story on the guild's website here. Nick is well known to International Federation of Agricultural Journalists, having attended several congresses and leaving his mark as a collegial statesman. Nick mainly looking after press and public relations for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution. In his welcome address, Nick praised the efforts of outgoing chair Joe Watson, who brought all kinds of energy, enthusiasm and presence to the position. Joe will be busy over the next few years preparing for the 2014 IFAJ Congress which he and his colleagues hope to bring to Scotland.
OWEN ROBERTS
Owen Roberts is a faculty member in the Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications program at the University of Illinois. As an agricultural journalist, he is the past president of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists and a lifetime achievement award recipient from the Canadian Farm Writers' Federation. His programs and research papers have been recognized nationally and internationally through awards from the Journal of Applied Communications, the National Agri-Marketing Association, the Association for Communications Excellence, and others.
